Why is it that many times at our classes and parties the women outnumber the men two to one? With all the studies done on all the many health benefits of ballroom dancing and including, people that ballroom dance on an average of 4 times weekly ward off diseases such as dementia and Alzheimers still, the women outnumber the men.
Could this be a reason that women are outliving men? By the time we reach age 85 women outnumber men 6 to 4 and by the time we are 100 the ratio is 2 to 1 with women outliving men. Is it because we dance? Could it be that dancing may be a primary factor in a woman's longevity?
More women are leaving their spouses at home and going dancing these days. Is it because it makes us feel better, forget our worries, get our blood pumping and heart rate up? Is it because ballroom dancing reminds us of happier times and re-energizes us to accomplish more in our everyday lives? Or, to de-stress and unwind after a long day.
I know for a fact, dancing has made me smarter, gave me courage to take on new and exciting projects that I would never have had the confidence to if I hadn't found ballroom dancing.
